Privacy Policy

The short version. Opus Great does not have user accounts and does not upload your sheet music or library to our servers. Your scores live on your device and, optionally, in your private iCloud account. We use Apple's standard frameworks and a minimal analytics SDK to understand which features are used and to keep the app stable.

1. Information We Don't Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit:

  • Your sheet music files (PDFs), titles, composers, or any score metadata
  • Your collections, books, favorites, or reading history
  • Your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information
  • Your location, contacts, photos, or other personal data on your device

The app does not have a sign-up flow and does not require an account to use.

2. Where Your Data Lives

Your scores and library are stored locally in the app's sandbox on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud and have iCloud Drive enabled, the app uses Apple's standard CloudKit framework to sync your library across your own Apple devices. This data is stored in your private iCloud database and is not accessible to us, Apple, or any third party. We never see this data.

3. Diagnostic and Analytics Data

To improve the app and identify crashes, Opus Great uses Google Firebase Analytics. Firebase automatically collects a small amount of anonymous diagnostic information, including:

  • Anonymous device identifiers (Apple's IDFV, not the advertising IDFA)
  • Device model, iOS version, language, and country/region
  • App version and session counts
  • Aggregate usage events (e.g. which screens are opened)
  • Crash reports and stability metrics

This data is anonymous and cannot be linked back to you personally. It is processed by Google according to Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase's Privacy and Security documentation.

4. Apple App Analytics

If you have opted into "Share with App Developers" in your iOS Settings (Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), Apple may share aggregated, anonymized usage statistics with us through App Store Connect. This is controlled entirely by you in iOS Settings and can be disabled at any time.

5. In-App Purchases

Opus Great offers a one-time in-app purchase ("Lifetime Pro") to unlock unlimited score storage. Payment is processed by Apple via the App Store. We do not receive your payment information, credit card number, or Apple ID. Apple may share with us anonymized purchase analytics through App Store Connect.

6. Children's Privacy

Opus Great is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app does not contain advertising, in-app messaging, or social features.

7. Your Rights

Because we do not collect personal information, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. You can:

  • Delete the app at any time, which removes all local data on that device
  • Disable iCloud sync in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Opus Great
  • Opt out of Firebase analytics by uninstalling the app

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
